Polska Vader har blivit av med sin basist Marcin Novak.
Som tillfällig ersättare återfinns Marcin Rygiel (Decapitated).
Metallica har döpt sin kommande platta till "Death Magnetic"
och den släpps i september.
En bok om svensk dödsmetall "Encyclopedia Of Svensk Dödsmetall"
släpps inom kort, länk.

The second installment of the "Shockwaves Skull Sessions" podcast
features host Bob Nalbandian alongside author/journalist Joel McIver
and Doug Goodman. Joel is the author of the brand new book
"The Bloody Reign Of Slayer" (Omnibus Press, 2008)
and Doug Goodman was SLAYER's original tour manager from
"Show No Mercy"/"Hell Awaits" era. Doug and Nalbandian share
some classic stories about SLAYER from their very early years
that are revealed for the first time in Joel's new book, including the
band's first club shows in Orange County as well as some great
road stories told by Doug.

A promotional video for "Hell", the new album from British black metal
pioneers VENOM, can be viewed at this location.
VENOM made "Hell" available in a digipack edition via Nuclear Blast's
mailorder featuring two bonus tracks — "In League With Satan"
and "Burn In Hell" — and an inverted cross.
Limited to 333 copies, it can be ordered here.
A complete track from "Hell" has been made available for streaming
on the band's official web site. Check out the song "Straight To Hell"
at this location. Streaming audio samples of eight songs from
"Hell" are available here.
VENOM will perform at the Hellfest (June 20-22) in Clisson, France.
More shows will be announced soon.

VENOM last year parted ways with guitarist Mykvs
(a.k.a. Mike Hickey; ex-CARCASS, CATHEDRAL).
"Personal unavoidable commitments in the U.S. have forced Mykvs
to announce that he cannot commit 100% to VENOM's schedule,"
the band previously wrote in a statement. A new guitarist by the
name of Rage has been drafted in to replace Mykvs.

Atlanta progressive metallers MASTODON debuted three brand new songs during their performance yesterday (Saturday, June 14) at Manchester, Tennessee's Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. Professionally filmed video footage of the new tracks — which are reportedly titled "Oblivion", "Ghost of Karilla", and "Divination" — can be viewed below (courtesy of Justin Ward).
MASTODON's new album is rumored to be based on the life of Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin (a.k.a. "Mad Monk"), a Russian mystic who is perceived as having influenced the later days of the Russian Czar Nicholas II, his wife the Tsaritsa Alexandra, and their only son the Tsarevich Alexei. His image, as well as the official teaser image for MASTODON's upcoming album, can be seen below.
MASTODON's new CD is being recorded in Atlanta with producer Brendan O'Brien. Drummer Brann Dailor told Billboard.com that so far, "everything sounds real creepy and spaced out and different." He was particularly enthused about a 15-minute jam dubbed "The Last Baron", which happily, O'Brien had no interest in making shorter or changing.
"There's so many toys to play with over at his studio, like pipe organs and all this crazy sh*t," said Dailor, who was introduced to O'Brien through Bruce Springsteen drummer Max Weinberg (his son is a big MASTODON fan). "There are little cool things we're going to do to the record that we've been wanting to do for a long time."
A recent "The Metal File" podcast from Montreal's CHOM-FM featured an audio interview with MASTODON bassist Troy Sanders. Download it at this location.
